LASIK

LASIK (Laser-Assisted In Situ Kertatomileusis)
LASIK uses an excimer laser to reshape the front of a patient's eyes (the cornea). It can be used to treat myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism.
The laser procedure usually takes less than one minute per eye and is pain free. There may be some mild discomfort for 24 to 48 hours as the eyes heal. Most patients achieve 20/30 vision or better after LASIK.

As a co-managing optometrist, I will help you make an informed decision about refractive surgery and refractive eye surgeons.

I will:

  • Educate you about laser vision correction and other vision corrective procedures.
  • Perform the pre-procedure testing and evaluation.
  • Communicate with the refractive surgeon regarding your eye history, test results and goal for the surgical outcome.
  • Provide post-operative follow up care and communicate these findings to the surgeon regarding your progress.
  • Monitor your eye health at your annual eye exam.

If you have any questions regarding refractive eye surgery, Please feel free to contact our office at 618-377-5221.
